MEDICAL GASTROENTEROLOGIST
at Dr John P Wright in Cape Town
An established medical gastroenterology private practice is looking for a colleague with an interest in clinical gastroenterology, GI physiology and clinical research to join us in Claremont, Cape Town. The practice sees the whole range of GI/hepatological conditions with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. We have a combined IBD patient base of >500, which facilitates our active participation in drug research.
Our team consists of myself and my associate, Dr A-K Cariem, three gastrointestinal nursing sisters, a pharmacist and two receptionists.
We have our own endoscopy room in which we do gastroscopies and colonoscopies. The room is fully equipped with Olympus endoscopes, a Soluscope washer and standard emergency equipment.
We also have a drug research programme specialising in the new agents being developed for IBD. This is an internationally recognised facility that survived an FDA audit and has been active for 30 years! This is a crucial part of the practice.
